The Route Ahead from Lhasa
Shigatse Travels
Tibet
The team with help from Rene Schrama of Shigatse Travels have arranged the neccessary permits to allow us to enter the wild beauty of Eastern Tibet. This is an area virtually uncycled - due to recent political constraints and so the team are ecstatic at the prospect of crossing this famed landscape. It is the area where many of the great rivers of the world tumble down from the High Plateau of Tibet and down on to their respective river plains - The Mekong, The Brahmaputra and The Yangtse to name but 3 (and what a 3!). The terrain is a dizzying combination of precipitous valleys and knife edge ridges that show up on any World Atlas relief map as the most awesome set of contoured ridges. The route should push us all to the limit but also give us the most memorable sights and experiences. We shall be crossing some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet and also making our entrance into South West China. Keep Reading and  any requests for writing on this most special of routes should be forwarded to the expedition manager - mike@humanpower.freeserve.co.uk
