Intermediate Technology - Charity No. - 247257

Intermediate Technology supports the efforts of poor communities to improve their livelihoods by specialising in the appropriate use of technology. They work in Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zimbabwe - to develop innovative and practical approaches which can be widely replicated. Their work is based on sound research that clearly demonstrates what works and why, and is designed to incorporate local knowledge and skills. Intermediate Technology focuses its work on the areas of Energy, Agro Processing, Manufacturing, Building Materials and Shelter, Food Production, Disaster Prevention, Mining and Transport.

Sustrans - Charity No. – 326550

Sustrans stands for Sustainable Transport. It works through practical projects - such as the national Cycle Network and Safe Routes to Schools - to design and build routes for cyclists and walkers. These routes provide for journeys to work, to school and for leisure. Sustrans believes our environment and quality of life can be immensely improved by a shift to more sustainable transport policies, and less dependence on the motor car.
