The X-Adventure 7 boots we have been testing have proved an immense success! Before departure to Nepal I tested them walking in Snowdonia, The Brecon Beacons and Dartmoor in all kinds of weather - hot summer heat as well as snow and sub-zero temperatures. They were instantly comfortable and breathable, very temperate and never too hot or too cold. We experienced no blisters with a minimal amount of time required to wear them in. The uppers have been flexible and very adjustable but providing ample support and protection, particularly around the heal which is of paramount importance not only when walking but when mountain biking as well. The soles have plenty of cushioning and have been very hard wearing. A common problem faced before with previous boots - but not this particular style of contour grip sole, has been that a solid and correspondingly hard wearing sole has meant that it has worked well in harder packed or dry conditions but when crossing rivers, for example, they have proved very treacherous on wet rocks and more akin to using ice skates!  In Nepal and Tibet we've used them in much more extreme conditions than Britain can offer, again coping well with the heat and the dust of the plateau as well as the ice and snow of the high 5,000m+ passes - even when under load if we have been forced to push or even carry our bikes as well. The only slight criticism that we could find has been that the thickness of the soles has meant that possibly the foot can feel a little bit isolated on the pedal, but its design in all other aspects has coped admirably with every situation and the constant use / abuse we have thrown at them.
